I have always felt passionate about writing, although I wasn't able to fully embrace the art of writing until the age of eighteen.
It was from there that I saw writing as a way to show a side of myself that isn't often seen, as a result of my disability, Cerebral Palsy.
As you will read in my book, my potential wasn't always recognized, or at least not acknowledged.
That is where writing became a way for me to showcase the potential that only a few people knew that I had.
However, it was meeting my now friend, mentor and fellow Australian author, John Marsden, that fully ignited my passion for the written word.
I had always been a fan of John's work while I was in my mid to late teens, I admired and perhaps even envied his talent of storytelling.
While I could possibly come across as arrogant, in reality I know that I'm not THAT special!
Predominantly, I am known for writing, as that is my main passion.
Currently I am in the final stage of editing my autobiography, which will be my first book.
Aside from that I am also writing a romance novel, which I plan to continue now that I have finished writing my autobiography.
I have also had an opportunity to write for a television show, which was a sketch comedy, "What's Wrong With U?"
The show depicted misconceptions that are often made regarding disability, as well as some of the issues which you often face when you have a disability.
I wrote six sketches for the show and although I enjoyed working on the show, and feel grateful to have had the opportunity, I think for the time being I will just stick to writing books and the like.
Aside from being a writer, in my spare time I am also a photographer, mainly shooting landscapes but sometimes I dip my toes into portrait photography.
I find that photography gives me yet another way to unleash my creativity by capturing the natural beauty of the world through my camera lens.
